Laugh Out Loud

Have you ever had a moment where you just couldn’t help but laugh out loud?  Most of the time when we laugh it’s because something funny has happened or because we have found such joy and delight in something (or someone!) that we cannot help but express our happiness with unrestricted laughter.

One thing I love about our home is that it is always filled with laughter.  My children are constantly amusing me (sometimes they mean to, sometimes they are being serious, but I can’t help but laugh at their innocence).  The sound of their childish laughter is a blessing to this Mother’s heart.  It means my children are happy, and are finding pleasure in their surroundings.

I want nothing more than to know that my children are happy, that they are discovering their purpose and that they are enjoying that discovery!  It makes any mother’s heart happy to see their children thriving and successful in the midst of laughter.

But there are many children across our world that do not have that same luxury.  They do not have a home that is filled with laughter, because they do not have a home.  They don’t have a mother who watches them grow, because they don’t have a mother.

As sad as that fact makes me, it is… indeed… a fact.  While there is very little that you or I can do to give them a mother – small plug for adoption here! (If the Lord lays it on your heart to adopt, please do!! ALL children need a loving home!) – there is plenty that we can do to give them an environment that is filled with laughter.

James 1:27 gives us the charge  27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.  Pretty simple.  If we following Jesus then we are to look after the orphans and the widows of this world.  In other words we are to take care of those who have no family.  No one to look after them, and who cannot do it for themselves.

That is where the ministry “LOL Ministry” has succeeded.  (Yes, LOL means “laugh out loud”!)

“LOL Ministry is an international organization that exists to love and nurture orphans, neglected and disadvantaged children and young adults. Its focus is to bring restoration through God’s love, allowing children and youth to discover their potential, while equipping and releasing them into their divine destiny and future.” (This quote is taken directly from their website at http://www.lolministry.com/)

How cool is that?  LOL Ministry is based in Belize and is offering hope and love to the orphans, neglected and disadvantaged children of that country!  But not just hope.  They are offering laughter.  They are offering love.  They are offering a future.  They are offering hope.  They are offering JESUS!  It doesn’t get much more amazing than that.

Over the next few weeks (ending June 6th) Cherry’s Creations will be doing a promotion that is designed to help raise money for LOL Ministry.  You will get a FREE gift (a 4x6 art print) with your order and LOL will get up to 25% of your purchase price as a donation. (Jewelry: 25%,  Paper craft items: [note cards, tags, prints, etc.] 20% and crosses and art block sets 10%.)

Now THAT makes me want to Laugh Out Loud!
